Carnaval Cancun 2015

It’s Carnaval time in Cancun again and Jay and I wouldn’t miss it! We started out at the parade which took place everyday last week at 5 pm on Av 20 de Noviembre. This is its second year on this road and I think it’s much better than Bonampak; it has so much more room to grow! This year the parade was bigger and better than last year. The floats were impressive and the dancing and energy was contagious. I’ve been taking dance classes at my local gym this year and it was hard not to just jump in!

After the parade we headed over to the fair grounds. We got some hot dogs (complete with mayo and hot peppers- when in Mexico…) and homemade banana chips for dinner and then wandered around taking in the sights and sounds. We played a game of ring toss for 10 pesos, but sadly did not win. Maybe next year!

The next day we headed over to the pier to see Merenglass perform. I’ve been dancing to some of their songs in my gym class so I could actually sing along! There must of been over a thousand people at the concert- a great ending to a great week! Can’t wait for Carnaval 2016!
