Pier Fun at Malecón Tajamar

The carnival allowed us to discover a beautiful area of downtown that we had never been before: Malecón Tajamar. It’s a boardwalk along the lagoon which is all paved with stone. There are palm trees lining the path and you get a great view of the hotel zone “7.” It is very modern looking and clearly well maintained. On the weekends there appears to be a guy who rents scooters and other similar toys for children.

It’s right on the lagoon and some of the marshy areas meet the sidewalk. Hence the signs for the cocodrilos.

We found a large open area (clear of both people and trees) and set up our kite! We had a great time flying and got a good a good workout at the same time.

We enjoyed ourselves so much that we returned the next day with a coffee and word puzzle book and spent the afternoon cuddling by the lagoon!
